IVE Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung Address Rumor Surrounding Soyou as a Senior at Starship Entertainment
Back on January 1, rookie girl group members IVE's Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung made a guest appearance for an episode of JTBC's popular variety show "Knowing Bros."
During this episode, former fellow Starship Entertainment labelmate and former SISTAR member, Soyou also made a guest appearance on the show.
While the cast members and guests were chatting, Super Junior member Heechul, who is part of the fixed cast, mentioned a rumor that had been circulating regarding the former SISTAR member around the time she departed Starship Entertainment.
According to Heechul, he had heard a rumor about Soyou being strict and harsh to her junior (hoobae) labelmates. "When you were in Starship Entertainment, we heard that you were really strict and harsh to all of your juniors," Heechul said.

Hearing this, Soyou laughed and put an end to the rumor, stating that it was false. "No, that is completely false. I was good with them. I have never hit them like what the rumors said. We used to have nice conversations on the phone and stuff," Soyou said, mentioning her phone calls with the IVE members.

Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung confirmed this and shared what it was really like to be under the same label as Soyou back in the past.
Jang Wonyoung explained that the only thing that happened between them was a single phone call, where Soyou had called the rookie idol around midnight to give her advice which lasted for six hours.
She added, "But I was not tired at all," making everyone laugh along with her.
IVE's leader Ahn Yujin also shared her phone call with Soyou, saying, "I got a phone call from her too, and I actually feel really grateful for it. No other seniors (sunbae) consider us and try to take care of us as much as Soyou does."

To prevent any misunderstandings, Jang Wonyoung added that they are not being sarcastic and are really grateful for her advice. "We are not being sarcastic or anything. We are honestly thankful for her advice. She wanted to make sure that we didn't many any mistakes," the idol said.
Meanwhile, Soyou had departed from Starship Entertainment after 11 years back in September 2021. At the time of her departure, the two IVE members were still trainees and preparing for their debut.
