Netizens and fans soon began debating over the authenticity of these pictures. Some people are saying that these are edited images of V and J-Hope from BTS's "In the Soop."

As it remains unclear who the man is in the photos, several fans started speculating that it is not the BTS member but a Korean model who appears to resemble the "Butter" singer. The model in question is Taek, who is well-known in South Korea and on Instagram (@clorlk).

In many of his Instagram pictures, it's undeniable that Taek does look like BTS V from his profile, style, and wavy hair. Especially when he wears sunglasses, the Korean model looks exactly like V.
Apart from his uncanny resemblance to the BTS member, another "proof" that made some people think that Taek might be the man in V and Jennie's photo is his post when he recently visited Jeju Island.

Netizens also pointed out that the scarf and clothes that Taek once wore are similar to the ones worn by the man in V and Jennie's photo. Hence, naturally, they believe that they have discovered the true identity of the photographed man.

Now, the Korean model has responded to the speculations after he received lots of messages regarding the matter of the viral photo of V and Jennie.

On May 27, Taek took to his personal Instagram account to clarify the issue. He particularly responded in English, saying "The guy in the picture going viral on Twitter is not me. So you don't need to message me any more."
Moreover, he had directly responded to a netizen's comment under his previous post, clarifying that he is not the man in the circulating image.

Still, BTS V's management agency Big Hit Music is yet to release an official statement concerning his dating rumor with BLACKPINK Jennie. The female idol's label, YG Entertainment, on the other hand, did issue a statement but they neither confirmed nor denied the allegations.
