TWICE Nayeon Reveals Pressure She Faced in Making Solo Debut

TWICE Nayeon Reveals Immense Pressure She Faced in Preparing for Solo Debut
While at the press conference an hour before the release of her solo debut album, Nayeon talked to the press, where she revealed that she felt immense pressure being the first TWICE member to make her solo debut.
As she has been a member of TWICE and promoted with the group for the past seven years, she worried that there is already an image that the public already has of her. However, as a solo artist, she wanted to show a different side to herself while keeping that image the public has.

"The public is very used to seeing me as a member of TWICE, and I am sure that there is this particular image about me that is already set in their heads," Nayeon said.
She continued, "I tried not to break out of that image too much while trying to show a different side of myself at the same time. That was one of the things that I gave most attention to while I was preparing for my solo album."
When it comes to being the first member of TWICE to make her solo debut after seven years, she found it difficult doing everything by herself as she was used to performing with eight other members.

"Not only did I feel pressured, but I also felt like it was not easy trying to do everything by myself. That was especially so when I was recording my songs and rehearsing the dance moves," Nayeon said.
Nayeon Reveals How She Overcame Her Challenges
The TWICE member also revealed that she discovered a new fear of hers while working on her debut album. "There are many TWICE members, so I have never had to record a whole song by myself nor dance by myself. It turned out that I had a fear of singing by myself as well," she said.
However, Nayeon was able to overcome these challenges because of her love for singing.

"I just kept trying to do my best to enjoy the whole journey as much as I could, and I slowly learned ways to sing in my own way. I also realized just how much I loved to sing," Nayeon shared.
And because of her solo debut, Nayeon was able to surpass limits and the do things she wasn't able to do as a member of TWICE, saying, "There were times as a group member that I felt there were limits to what I could do. I kind of feel like I passed those limited with 'IM NAYEON,' so I feel very happy about that."
With her solo album, Nayeon hopes to let everyone know that each member of TWICE has their own unique color, and that they can look forward to solo albums from the other members as well.
