A lot of songs were released by K-pop groups from January to December this 2022. However, only nine of them were able to reach a rare milestone on MelOn - to reach No. 1 on its Top 100 chart.

As many of you know, MelOn is the biggest music streaming site in South Korea, meaning its users aren't only K-pop fans but music lovers of other genres. Considering this, it is expected that not all users are interested in K-pop songs, which makes it hard for these kinds of releases to rank high on MelOn's charts.

So, let's check out which K-pop group songs were able to land on the first spot of MelOn's Top 100 chart this 2022.

These Are the Only 9 K-pop Group Songs to Hit #1 on MelOn's Top 100 in 2022

(G)I-DLE "TOMBOY" & "Nxde"

The first two songs on our list belong to (G)I-DLE: "TOMBOY" and "Nxde." This makes (G)I-DLE one of the only two K-pop groups this year to claim first place on MelOn's Top 100 chart this year.

"TOMBOY" and "Nxde" serve as the title tracks for "I NEVER DIE" and "I love" respectively. As of March 30, "TOMBOY" became the fourth Korean song released in 2022 with the most hours at No. 1 on MelOn with 218 hours. "Nxde," on the other hand, is (G)I-DLE's fastest release to top the chart.

BIGBANG "Still Life"

Dropped on April 5, BIGBANG's "Still Life" is the K-pop group song with the most hours at No. 1 on MelOn's Top 100 in 200 with 808 hours. It previously held the record for the 2022 Korean song with the most hours atop of the said chart this year. (The record was broken by Younha's "Event Horizon" with 819 hours as of Dec. 11.

BTS "Yet to Come"

BTS's "Yet to Come" (The Most Beautiful Moment)" is another K-pop group song that managed to claim number one on MelOn's Top 100 chart this 2022. Notably, "Yet to Come" is the first song this year that went straight to No. 1. It impressively debuted atop the tally just one hour after its release on June 10 at 1 p.m. KST.

IVE "LOVE DIVE" & "After LIKE"

Next on our list are two of IVE's hit songs, "LOVE DIVE" and "After LIKE." IVE is the other K-pop group, alongside (G)I-DLE, to have two different songs that placed first on MelOn's Top 100 chart this year.

Following its release, "LOVE DIVE" stayed strong at No. 1 for a total of 485 hours, while "After LIKE" remained for 658 hours (as of Nov. 2).

NewJeans "Attention"

NewJeans' "Attention" also joins our list of K-pop group songs that reached the first spot on MelOn's Top 100 chart this 2022. It peaked at No. 1 on the tally on Aug. 9, eight days after the rookie act's debut EP came out. As of Sept. 4, "Attention" surpassed 400 hours atop the chart.

BLACKPINK "Pink Venom"

Although it is not the title track of BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK" studio album, "Pink Venom" was able to land at No. 1 on MelOn's Top 100 chart. The song reached the top just 11 hours after its release, becoming the fastest K-pop girl group release this 2022 to attain this feat (as of Aug. 19).

NCT Dream "Candy"

NCT Dream's "Candy" is the latest K-pop group song this 2022 to hit number one on MelOn's Top 100 chart. Also, it is the only third K-pop boy group release to do so, following BIGBANG and BTS.
