On November 15, the fandom was shaken and some started leaving after the pre-debut group's "identity" member confirmed her departure.

Fans Prompted to Leave the Fandom Following Ahyeon's Departure from BABYMONSTER

The pre-debut group BABYMONSTER faced their first crisis even before their launch.

On Thursday, YG Entertainment brought the disappointing news that Ahyeon won't be joining the girl group's debut due to health reasons.

Nonetheless, BAEMON will promote as a six-member group, hinting that the member might re-join the group in the future.

Although BABYMONSTER garnered massive attention for being the first girl group set to be unveiled by YG in seven years after BLACKPINK, there was another reason the team earned anticipation for their debut - and it was none other than Ahyeon.

Even before their debut, Ahyeon became BAEMON's "key" member and it is not an exaggeration to say she brought most fans to the fandom. She was considered the "identity member," known for her superior skills in rap, vocals and dance.

On top of that, she was massively acknowledged for her beauty that resembles BLACKPINK Jennie and LE SSERAFIM Huh Yunjin.

Over SNS, she went viral for her cover of Charlie Puth's "Dangerously," which garnered over 32 million views on YouTube. She even got a favorable response from the original singer, Puth, saying, "I loved it."

Even YG Producer Yang Hyun Suk and dance trainer Lee Jung attested to the power of Ahyeon, explaining how she became worthy to be the group's "center."

Due to her laudable skills, the K-pop industry was all eyes on her and was expected to make a huge impact as a K-pop idol representing the 5th-gen era.

Unfortunately, following the announcement that she was excluded from the team, her fans were greatly disappointed, which also led to the departure of a lot of fans. Although YG said that she might re-join later, it remains just a possibility.

YG stans recalled how the company also said the same thing when Mashiho went on a hiatus due to health reasons before ultimately leaving TREASURE.

As a result, Ahyeon's fans were shaken and decided to leave the fandom even before their debut.
